Reproduction of one of the many “Waist Belts” worn during Lafayette’s grand tour of the United States between 1824-1825. This version was copperplate printed in Philadelphia and widely distributed. This reproduction badge is made from 100% Silk taffeta ribbon like the originals and stamped with archival ink. These were pinned around the waist of the gown. At least one extant gown retains its original belt. The stamp will be centered on the middle of the ribbon and rotated 90 degrees.

Note that these are not hemmed on the top and bottom as the extant examples are not hemmed, they are cut straight and left raw edged. There will be some variations due to stamping from each badge.
