$5.00
Reproduction of one of the many “Badges” worn during Lafayette’s grand tour of the United States between 1824-1825. This version was copperplate printed in Philadelphia and widely distributed. This reproduction badge is made from 100% Silk taffeta ribbons like the originals and stamped with archival ink. These were probably pinned to coats and dresses.
Measurement: 1 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches long.
Note that these are not hemmed on the top and bottom as the extant examples are not hemmed, they are cut straight and left raw edged. There will be some variations due to stamping from each badge.
