1760s Washington Livery

Mount Vernon commissioned this livery for their museum galleries based upon a 1764 letter to his factor in London. Washington clearly spells out what the livery is supposed to look like including the application of livery lace, however several weeks later he changes his mind and asks to have no lace applied. It remains unclear whether this livery was made with or without lace, so we made it as per Washington’s specifications in the first letter.

1790s Washington Livery

Mount Vernon commissioned this livery for their museum galleries based upon the Washington Family portrait by Edward Savage. The portrait shows no livery lace on the garment but Washington was purchasing lace for unknown projects through the 1780s.

The Green Hornet

The “Green Hornet” was a uniform that General George S. Patton developed prior to the outbreak of World War Two. The uniform was ideally designed to create esprit de corps amongst the newly formed armored (tank) divisions. The uniform suffered from prolong light exposure and greatly faded the original. The reproduction brings back to life the brilliant forest green jacket and trousers trimmed trimmed with teal bias tape.

Virginia Capitol Police 400th Anniversary

In 2018, the Virginia Capitol Police celebrated their 400th Anniversary. This set of uniforms celebrates their past. A 17th Century doublet and breeches dating to the founding of the police force, the Virginia State Garrison regiment documents the style of clothing worn during the War of American Independence, and finally the uniform of the Richmond Public Guard.

Tommy Potts Suit from Pottsgrove Manor

The suit is based on this 1753 bill when Tommy turned 18 and was preparing to take over his father's business. While no mention of trim, the 11£ price certainly reflects the enormous cost of gold or silver.

Chester County Historical Society Coats

These four coats were designed for a new installation at the Chester County Historical Society. They are being used to discuss the different points of view in that area during the Revolutionary War. Coats consist of a loyalist regimental coat, a Pennsylvania militia coat, a civilian coat, and a Quaker style coat.

The First Oval Office

A joint project between The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation and The Museum of the American Revolution, I supervised the reconstruction of George Washington’s Office tent.
